Nik Beachman is a Producer and Executive Producer of acclaimed and award winning short films, feature films, commercials and digital screen content. Nik has a diverse background in the NZ Film industry. His first role was on ‘The Piano’ as a stand-in, of late he has Executive Produced and co-produced two acclaimed NZ feature films, ‘Mahana’ and ‘Vermilion’
Nik ran a NZ Film Commission short film fund that developed and funded a hat trick of three Cannes selected short films and three consecutive NZ Film Best short film Awards in addition to multiple international film festival selections and awards.
Nik then took his skills of talent development into commercials. Nik co-founded Thick as Thieves with director Alex Sutherland. Nik has been successful in developing and fostering the vibrant careers of many celebrated NZ directors; David Rittey, Alex Sutherland, Sima Urale, Leo Woodhead, Zoe McIntosh, Michele Saville, Michael Duignan and THUNDERLIPS. In 2014 Nik was a finalist for the Producer Award at the Cannes Lions Young Director Awards.
Nik’s work has been awarded and recognized locally and internationally at the Axis Awards and Effies in NZ, Award in Australia, DGA Australia, Clio in the US, The Cannes Lions, and D&AD Award in London, and others. Nik recently served as Jury Member for the Cannes YDA.
