Nik Beachman is a Producer and Executive Producer of acclaimed and award winning short films, feature films, commercials and VFX film content. Nik has a diverse background in the NZ Film industry. Nik ran a NZ Film Commission short film group that developed and funded a hat trick of three Cannes Film Festival selected short films and three consecutive NZ Film Best short film Awards in addition to multiple international film festival selections and awards. Nik took his skills of talent development into commercials. Nik co-founded Thick as Thieves with director Alex Sutherland. Nik has been successful in developing and fostering the vibrant careers of many celebrated NZ directors; David Rittey, Sima Urale, Leo Woodhead, Zoe McIntosh, Michele Saville, and THUNDERLIPS. In 2015 Nik was a finalist for the Producer Award at the Cannes Lions Young Director Awards.
Nik has recently served as the Executive Producer at Fathom VFX, a new visual effects company based in Auckland, and a Producer at lauded motion design studio Assembly.
Nik’s recent work with Fathom has been awarded locally with Gold and Silver at the 2024 Axis Awards. Nik served as a Producer on Jonny Kofoed’s short film ‘Diary of A Head Injury’ the winner of Best NZ Short Documentary Film at DocEdge 2024, the film has subsequently received a prestigious Yellow Pencil from The 2025 D&D Awards.
Nik’s clients include Apple, HBO, Autodesk, Spark, ASB, Toyota and many others.
Nik;s work has received award recognition from the Effies in NZ, Award Australia, DGA Australia, ADC & One Club in the US, The Cannes Lions, D&AD Awards in London, and others. Nik has served as a Jury Member for the Cannes YDA and Shots awards. Nik is a past Chairman of the producers group NZAPG / APA and is a current board member of the NZ VFX Guild.
Nik works as an integrated producer across Film, Digital, Experiential, Post, VFX and AI projects. He loves collaborating with creatives, directors, vfx artists, account managers and others in the pursuit of great work across any format.
